In 2017, Sarah formed SGBR Consulting LLC as an extension of her practice and accepted a contract with the Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (OADC) as a forensic social worker on criminal defense cases. She provides support to juvenile and adult defendants and their defense teams ranging from misdemeanor offences to serious felonies and homicide cases. She has a special interest in supporting clients experiencing complex and pervasive mental health issues, intergenerational trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other congenital conditions, such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
In 2021, Sarah accepted a contract with the Office of Respondent Parents' Counsel (ORPC) to conduct parenting capacity evaluations in partnership with Dr. Paul Spragg. Together, they formed the Colorado Clinical and Forensic Collaborative and created a protocol to assess parenting capacity within a comprehensive and interdisciplinary team-based approach.
